Spring is in the air, and that means Re:new Project Impact Week Is just around the corner. Get excited!!
Spring is in the air, and that means Re:new Project Impact Week Is just around the corner. Get excited!
But what exactly is Impact Week? It’s where we get to celebrate some of our favorite holidays as an organization (all in one week!) and invite you, our donors, advocates, and volunteers, to join in the fun! These three holidays just so happen to be Volunteer Appreciation Day, Fashion Revolution (Week), and Earth Day.
This year, Impact Week festivities begin Monday, April 18th and end Friday, April 22nd, and below is a glimpse at how we plan to make those days as memorable as possible:
Monday: Re:new is only as strong as our people: ESL teachers, sewing instructors, in-store volunteers, and so many more! That’s why on April 18th, we’ll be stopping to personally thank the beloved volunteers who make our work possible. We’ll also be calling more people to action by sharing our mission, our impact on the refugee population and community at-large, as well as our need for more involvement through volunteerism.
Wednesday: Fashion is our passion—well, one of them—and April 20th, we’ll be explaining how we live out that passion: ethically. From providing fair wages to creating a safe work environment and so much more, we’ll fill you in on everything you need to know about our commitment to being a brand that values each artisan’s personal creativity, as well as human dignity, hope, and Christ’s love above all else.
Friday: We believe that part of intentionally caring for people is intentionally taking care of the environment that allows them to flourish. We’ll conclude Impact Week by highlighting how Re:new is actively protecting the environment, down to the recycled materials we use in our classes and programs to the partnerships we’ve bolstered to hold us accountable to sustainability.
At Re:new, our impact is only expanding and, we believe, just beginning!
