We're looking to partner with people who want to make a difference in the lives of refugees in DuPage County and beyond! Whether you live in the area or across the continent, there are ways to become involved with Re:new.

Carry the Story

Ways to Carry the Story: These are simple things you can do to impact the lives of refugees here in the United States. Often people do not know what makes a person a refugee, or it is commonly assumed that refugees are only in other parts of the world. However, there are thousands of refugee families resettled here in the United States each year. Be informed, carry their story to others and increase awareness!

Every product in our store is masterfully handcrafted by a Re:new artisan. Our artisans are courageous refugee women from around the world who have been resettled in the USA. When you purchase a Re:new product, you are providing viable employment and a place of community for these remarkable women as they rebuild their lives in America.

Re:new would not exist without the time and talents of our many dedicated volunteers. In 2013, Re:new was awarded the Spirit of Volunteerism Award by the DuPage Community Foundation in recognition of Re:new's dedicated volunteers who gave over 11,000 hours of their time that year. Volunteers are involved in a broad range of daily activities critical to Re:new's mission, such as:

    • Store sales associate
    • Representing Re:new at off-site events
    • Managing social media channels
    • Blogging
    • Outreach
    • Administration
    • Graphic design
    • Special Events
    • Teaching sewing in the Re:new Studio
